July 26, 2016

Hey mom I'm on the computer this morning because I wont have a p-day tomorrow because I leave tomorrow!  I can't believe it ! I've had a lot of fun here in the MTC but it's time to go out and do the real work. I'm leaving at 5:30 in the morning to the airport and my flight isn't til 11 so I'll be there for a while proselyting. I'll be calling sometime between 8-10 is my guess and I'll have to go get a phone card today for like $4.  Yesterday was a lot of fun we went to sacrament meeting and I taught the priesthood lesson about the Book of Mormon which was cool and then we went to the devotional with the Nashville Tribute Band for 3 hours and it was awesome ! We got to sing with them in a couple of their songs. This last week went by really fast but I was kind of mad because the other district in our zone left last Monday and they were a really fun group of Elders that I liked being with .  Also my best friend here in the MTC is Elder Kevin Hyde haha and last week his mom sent me a package with food and letter and said she's very grateful for me and so on which made me feel really good.  I'm ready to go eat some real food because this stuff sucks.  There's way to many people to be eating in the cafeteria so its always crowded and I don't like it.  I have pictures that I'll send this afternoon because I don't have my camera on me right now.  Today I'm just gonna spend a lot of it packing and doing laundry. I'll email you this afternoon

The scripture I Want on my plaque is Doctrine and Covenants 68:6.

Here's some pics from this week ! I'm wearing my companion's hat and preaching to the other elders and the last pic is my teacher I had these last three weeks. He's from Driggs, Idaho so when I get back were going fishing!!!   And the tie is ugly because we're doing an ugly tie contest and I'm winning so far.

July 19, 2016

I'm eating just fine and my room has AC.   This last week I had a cold and have been sick but still went to class and stuff.  I taught a Korean investigator and got him to commit to baptism so that was pretty cool.  David A Bednar came to devotional this Sunday and that was a really neat experience.

Hey, so I sent you pics this morning and then told you a little bit.   It's crazy I leave in a week though.  I leave the MTC Tuesday morning at 5:50 and my plane leaves at 11 so I'll call sometime between then.  I went to the temple this morning and did a sealing session so that's was cool.  I don't have a lot more to say but I hope things are getting better.

I'll talk to ya next week from the airport.

Week #1 in MTC

Hey mom the MTC has been great so far I really like it here. My testimony has gotten stronger and I know I'm doing the right thing.  Suprisingly, I'm still alive. There's nuts everywhere in the cafeteria and peanut butter and they use the same utensils and plates over so the first couple of days I didn't eat but then I just started eating and the food isn't too bad but I got food poisoning last night and that didn't feel good.

My companion is from Virginia and he's pretty cool.  He definitely knows a lot more about the gospel than I do but I've been getting better at it.  There are 12 elders in our district and they are all great. Seven of them are going to Reno and It's kind of funny cuz they're all from the south. I'll be in the MTC for 3 weeks so its not too bad. This week has gone by real fast. There was a fire drill just barely so I had to exit out but I don't know what I want to my scripture yet so just hold that off for a week or two.  Tell everyone to email me and send packages of candy and food and stuff cuz I'm starving. Just send the letters through Dear Elder because I can read them during the week. If you can send me my blanket and coat and driving and immunization records that be nice.  I know a lot of people here in the MTC and made a lot of friends. Tell Brooke to tell Keith I  met an elder from Washougal and he knows the Hibbards. His last name is Bishoff.  And then I've met a few elders from Snake River and they know Colt so that was funny. I went to the temple and did a session this morning and I really enjoyed that. I've been out to the field every morning for exercise so dad was wrong.  This Sunday I went to the choir practice and the Sunday before I leave us missionaries get to sing at a concert with the Nashville Tribute Band at the BYU campus or somewhere, I cant remember.  I definitely have a lot to learn so I'm glad I'm here for 3 weeks.  Well, I think that's all I have to say for this week and my p-days are on Tuesdays but if I forgot something I can back on tonight and let you know.  Have a good week and remember those few things.  Talk to ya next week.

Mom:  Why are you hungry?

Jared:  Because I don't dare to eat stuff from the cafeteria and thanks. Also our meal plan is really close so I eat dinner at 4 and then that's it for the day.
